On Tuesdays and Thursdays we now offer a class at 5:30 pm for Mothers & Children (6 years and over). Yoga for Mothers and Children is a great way to stay healthy and be with your child at the same time. Quite often, new mothers have to compromise their health and exercise routines because they can't find a child minder or aren't comfortable leaving their little one behind. Mother and child yoga classes are a great way to maintain a healthy life style, aid your child's development and ultimately share a bonding experience with your child.
Also on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm we offer a class for expectant Mothers. Yoga provides numerous benefits for expectant mothers and the mothers of newborn infants. Prenatal yoga alleviates some of the common discomforts of pregnancy, such as back and hip pain, sciatica, headaches, varicose veins and swelling of the hands, feet and legs. Also, practicing yoga after the birth of a child can help new mothers to stretch, realign, strengthen and rejuvenate their bodies and their minds.
Normal Yoga classes are on offer on the same evenings at 8:30 pm. Yoga has many benefits relating to physical and mental therapy. The aging process, which is largely an artificial condition, caused mainly by autointoxication or self-poisoning, can be slowed down by practicing yoga. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated, we can significantly reduce the catabolic process of cell deterioration. To get the maximum benefits of yoga one has to combine the practices of yogasanas, pranayama and meditation. Regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation can help such diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins and heart conditions.
According to medical scientists, yoga therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems which directly influences all the other systems and organs of the body. Yoga acts both as a curative and preventive therapy. The very essence of yoga lies in attaining mental peace, improved concentration powers, a relaxed state of living and harmony in relationships.
